On October 16, in partnership with 15 community and government agencies, Shift launched Engaging Men in Violence Prevention Learning Collaborative (EMC). The purpose of the learning collaborative is to design and test non-programmatic approaches to reduce violence against women by working in settings where men naturally congregate. EMC members will collaborate with key influencers in male-oriented settings to strengthen individual and organizational skills related to three competency sets that we believe are fundamental to violence prevention: gender equity and equality; healthy masculinities; and healthy relationships. Thank you to the Government of Alberta and the United Way of Calgary and area for their generous funding and support.
