Shift’s director, Lana Wells, and Dr. Sarah Fotheringham co-led the national study and conducted interviews with 33 pro-feminist men across Canada to examine the challenges they face in their gender equality work. From this original research, Wells and Fotheringham gained valuable insight into how we can attract, invite, encourage, and support more men and boys to mobilize for gender equality and violence prevention. Wells and her research team are currently working with Next Gen Men to begin building a network of pro-feminist and feminist leaders across the country thanks to federal funding recently announced by Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE).
