Developed through the Made-In-Alberta Rural Primary Prevention Collaborative, this report summarizes key trends that enable gender-based violence in Banff and outlines next steps for violence prevention. The report details each trend and offers reflections on how to prevent violence for a safer, more cohesive Banff. Recommendations to enhance violence-prevention work in Banff include strengthening violence prevention in the hospitality sector, developing a collaborative primary prevention plan with the tourism industry and the town, enhancing data collection to better understand perpetrator patterns, and building YWCA Banff’s capacity to strengthen community prevention efforts. Â
A companion report detailing the process of bringing data and local experiences together to understand these trends can be found here. Â
