In response to an invitation from The Legislative Assembly of Ontario’s Standing Committee on Justice Policy, Shift provided a submission on the value of engaging, motivating, and working alongside men and boys to disrupt pathways to violence perpetration. The submission advises that Ontario is well-positioned to become a national leader by funding a government-led strategy to work with men and boys on preventing violence. Alongside three evidence-informed recommendations and associated cost estimates, this submission provides a breakdown of what new research is needed, how to invest in networks of men engaged in violence prevention, and how to action our existing knowledge on mobilizing men and boys. Recommendations will inform the Standing Committee’s study on intimate partner violence.
