In 2016, Shift: The Project to End Domestic Violence, Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter, YW Calgary and Turner Strategies partnered to strategize on how to enhance the impact of women’s shelters to help end violence. The result is Shelter 2.0, a collaborative discussion on how women’s shelters can be enhanced & reimagined to focus on evolution and deliberate interventions to better support women. Shelter 2.0 proposes a shift for women’s shelters and the traditional crisis response by adding deliberate interventions that support a broader goal of preventing and ending violence.
